Description

Formulated with premium Pennsylvania Grade base oil combined with Driven’s High Zinc (ZDDP)/low-detergent additive package delivers a synergetic chemical balance, producing enhanced break-in protection. Formulated to protect flat tappet, overhead, and roller cam engines during the critical break-in process, GP-1 reduces engine wear while promoting proper piston ring seal. GP-1 Break-In 30 doesn’t require any additional ZDDP or break-in additives, and it can be used for both dyno tuning and initial street use. Viscosity typical of SAE 30.

Good for full power pulls on the dyno, one night of racing or up to 400 miles on the street.

Proper Break-In Procedure:

Driven’s Break-in oil is very high in ZDDP (typical 2800-3000 PPM ZDDP) but its also very low detergent. Detergent will counter the ability of the ZDDP to adhere and protect the needed part. This is because ZDDP and Detergent are both surface active - they compete for the same space. On a brand-new engine, you just want to have ZDDP to form anti-wear protection without the detergent cleaning it off per say.

Run the Break-In oil for the first 30 mins - Change the filter/oil and replace with Break-In oil to flush out wear metals and assembly lubricants - run approx. 400 miles on break in oil – Change the filter and replace the Break-In oil with your usual Driven Racing Oil.

Driven GP-1 30W Break In oil should only be used for engine break in. This engine oil will NOT MEET any current API or OEM Engine Oil Specifications as it is formulated specifically for engine break in.
